My 2 favorite pics from last deployment, 2006 (so far this time he has only sent me pics of him all burned to a crisp from sitting at the pool! LOL!) I blurred out the name and rank because we were told that it was against OPSEC to post them online with the name and rank...not that I worry about anything on this board...but just following orders from our commander...
....
On a side note...I MISS these DCU's...the ACU's just aren't as sexy!!

In this one, he looks so tough! A bunch of the other guys were in it too, but I didn't want to use their images without their permission...

And this one was attached to my Valentine's Day e-mail from last deployment...I thought it was cute! :)

as of yet my boyfriend has not been deployed. however next month he is set to go to iraq for a year. we had the plans of spending as much time together as possible but i ended up having to have surgery and now it looks as if i may not see him before his deployment. i figured tonight has been hard for me...he fell asleep talking on the phone...him being so tired...i sat on the phone listening to him sleep and cried so i thought i should come and introduce myself. my name is ashley. my boyfriend is chris and he is a marine. he just reenlisted for two years and everyday i am so thankful to have him as the love of my life. i will try and get some pictures for you soon. until then thank you for the support and thanks for having a place i can share my information about my hero.

Hi Ashley. This is my husbands first deployment also. He left last week. I'm here if you need someone to vent to. This has been crazy for me so far. You can never have a big enough support system.

ALways here when you need to vent or cry!
It is definatley tough, but as soon as you kiss your man for the firt time when he gets home....MAN! There is no other feeling in the entire world that can compare...NOTHING!

Keep your head up girl!

:)

Use these as inspiration for your very own homecoming day...
Can't wait to do it again in about 13 months!!!

We are all the way to the left, and my best friend and her husband are on the right...she laughs because all you can see is her butt!

The kiss worth waiting 12 months for!! (TRUST ME!!!)

i already cant wait for the day. chris found out his address yesterday and it made me realize this is real. but i love that man and i can wait because i know it is worth it. i tell you the hardest part in all this is the fact that with all the stress him and i have been bickering over the dumbest things ever. but the moments that he calls to tell me goodnight and how much he loves me and miss me...those are worth it all.

The fighting and bickering is TOTALLY normal...it is part of getting prepared for a seperation. They ALL (as much as they deny it), try to emotionally distance themselves and subconsciously sabbotage their last few days that are suppose to be wonderful.

You will be fine, he will be fine and you two TOGETHER will be just fine...it's a lot of work and you will sometimes have a fleeting moment of wondering why you are doing it...but you will look back on it and say "It sure didn't feel like _____ (a year, 15 months, 6 months, whatever)!!!"

UGH! I'm so sorry! That sucks!
I hope he starts feeling back to normal soon!
Tell him to stay away from the combatives class when he is "over there"...my hubby just got finished with part 1 of 3 that he signed up for and he is beaten up so badly (2 black eyes, wrenched back, busted lip...) that he thinks he may try and back out of the last 2 parts...!

omgosh chris better not go near those classes. he informed me this morning he has to go and get i guess licenses for certain vehicles while he is there in iraq. he was informed he would have to be operating those during his tour. which i guess isnt bad. update on the chin...basically he is just sore. he didnt get pain meds so he has no way to really relieve any of the pressure/soreness. but all seems to be going well.
